The vehicles are fueled by 6.0-liter, V8 engines, with carburetors. Engines are 650-700bhp powered and can reach speeds up to 180mph.
<h2>Points System</h2>
Eight drivers qualify for the postseason races. Success in the initial 16 races is the prerequisite to qualify for the postseason format. However, only full-time drivers are eligible for a playoff berth. After the sixteenth race of the season, the eight-driver field is set for the playoffs, any and all remaining spots are filled by drivers with the highest number of points without a win.

The playoffs consist of seven races and are divided into three parts - Round of 8, Round of 6, and Championship 4.

Round of 8 and Round of 6 are elimination rounds where 2 drivers are eliminated and four drivers fight for the championship in the final race.

The regular season finished with the ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond Raceway on September 10. The playoffs finished with the Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix Raceway on November 6, where Sheldon Creed won the title, and his partners Zane Smith and Brett Moffitt finished in second and third position for GMS Racing in the standings.

NASCAR organizes a stock car racing series called NASCAR Xfinity Series. The minor league of NASCAR, the Xfinity series is considered as a stage for young drivers to venture up to the association's high-level hustling, the Cup Series.

The Xfinity Series races are held as a feeder race on the day preceding a Cup Series occasion planned for the end of that week.

Started in 1982, it was first called the Budweiser Late Model Sportsman Series from 1982 to 1983. In 1984, the name was changed to the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series. This name endured from 1984 to 2002.

It was then called The NASCAR Busch Series from 2003 till 2007, and the NASCAR Nationwide Series from 2008 through 2014.

It is presently supported by Comcast by means of its buyer link brand Xfinity, hence the current nomenclature of the series.

<h2>Playoffs</h2>
12 drivers fit the bill for the Xfinity Series postseason races. Success in the initial 26 races would propel a driver into the Playoffs. After the 26th race, the season finisher field of 12 drivers is set.

The Xfinity Series utilizes a similar elimination rule as the NASCAR Cup Series.

Season finisher comprises seven races divided into three sections. The first and the second part have three races each, after which four drivers are dropped. The last race is the Playoff finale where the last four drivers battle for the title.

Chase Briscoe dominated the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series. He has won eight races.

The next driver on the list is Austin Cindric. He won three races in addition to the Regular Season Championship.

Following the Racing Lovers 250 at Richmond Raceway, Austin Cindric secured the Regular Season Championship. He became the 2020 Xfinity Series Champion in the wake of winning the season-finishing race at Phoenix.

Likewise, Team Penske clinched its sixth Owners' Championship, Chevrolet won the Manufacturer's Championship, and Harrison Burton took the NASCAR Rookie of the Year respects.
<h2>2021 Season</h2>
The 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series is the 40th season of the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The season will start at Daytona International Speedway with the Beef. It's What's for Dinner. 300 on February 13.

Kyle Larson was born on June 31, 1992, in Elk Grove, California. The HMS star was educated at Pleasant Grove High School in Elk Grove itself. Racing and school are difficult to balance but Larson had a lot of help from his mother who was a teacher. The HMS driver was born into a family of racers. His father, Mike Larson, was a racer as well. His mother, Janet Larson, is Japanese-American and both of his grandparents spent time in an internment camp during World War II. His middle name is Miyata which is a common surname in several regions in Japan. He has a sister whose name is Andrea.

Early on in his career in motorsports, Kyle Larson was a prolific dirt-track racer with several prestigious wins in the King's Royal, Knoxville Nationals, and the Chili Bowl Nationals. He also won the 2011 4-Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway. This saw him win three types of USAC races at a go in a single night, becoming only the second driver to achieve so. The following year saw him earn six victories in USAC National Midget races, which included the Turkey Night Grand Prix.

His achievements caught the eye of the teams in NASCAR and Kyle Larson made his full-time debut in the 2013 Nationwide Series with Turner Scott Motorsports. He had run a few races in the Truck Series in 2012 with the same team.

One of Kyle Larson's earliest sponsor after he moved to <a href="https://www.essentiallysports.com/category/nascar/hendrick-motorsports/">Hendrick Motorsports</a> from Chip Ganassi Racing in 2021 was HendrickCars.com. The Hendrick Automotive Group, via the HendrickCars.com brand, became a majority sponsor for the #5 driver for the 2022 and 2023 Cup Series seasons. Backing Larson for some 35 races in his NASCAR schedule, the brand also committed itself to sponsoring the racer in all non-NASCAR events.

As the division's first Japanese-American driver, Larson also paid an ode to his heritage when, in 2023, he landed an official restaurant partner in the form of JINYA Ramen Bar. Just like any other multi-talented personality, Kyle Larson has time and again shown how easy it is to dabble in multiple things at once. From competing to owning, the driver knows how to do it all. Merely at the age of 21, in 2013, Kyle Larson started exploring his entrepreneurial side which saw the formation of his sprint car and midget racing team, in association with fellow driver Justin Marks, named Larson Marks Racing. Primarily competing in the World of Outlaws, the team has had its highs and lows. The team had a fairly successful run with driver Shane Stewart who won at the team's second-ever start at the Eldora Speedway. The now-Hendrick Motorsports driver uttered a racial slur during a video game stream in April that year. He was swiftly dropped from his team and he lost his sponsors. Before long, NASCAR suspended the driver. Larson was reinstated in October after which he joined HMS.

The 2021 Cup Series champion has had run-ins with the outspoken <a href="https://www.essentiallysports.com/tag/denny-hamlin/">Denny Hamlin</a>. The two drivers had a moment in the 2023 Cup Series season in Kansas. Hamlin nudged Larson into the wall to take the victory of the race.
