This weekend is the 2021 Hollywood Casino 400 at the Kansas Speedway. It marks the second race in the Round of 8, slowly building up to the NASCAR season finale. Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic last year, there was a lot of doubt about fans attending the races. Luckily, things seem to be under some sort of control now, with vaccines in circulation. In light of this, the Kansas Speedway authorities planned full-capacity races for this year.

According to reports, the authorities are expecting to sell around 48,000 tickets for this weekend. Last time out at the same venue in May, the fans were in the stands. Around that time, speedway president Pat Warren admitted that he was glad to welcome the fans. Just like in May, Warren and the speedway are cooperating with state and local officials. The main objective is to ensure a safe event for the fans, competitors and the entire industry.

Of course, the speedway will be sure to adhere to COVID protocols. To be precise, they will install multiple hand washing stations throughout the facility. In addition to that, the officials will enforce the practice of wearing masks and screening spectators as they enter the premises. This is because, they do not want to take any chances, as the virus is still raging, irrespective of vaccinations.

Heading into this weekend’s race, Kyle Larson is under no pressure at all. This is because, he has already booked his seat in the season finale. So, he gets to watch his seven remaining rivals sweat it out at this race and at Martinsville next weekend. On one hand, he could be a little helpful and could try and aid teammate Chase Elliott. However, the flip side of the coin could see him try and win the Kansas race and make it even more difficult for them.
