NASCAR: Huge Crash for Russ Lane in the ‘Dawn 150’ ARCA Mendes Series Race at Kansas

The ‘Dawn 150’ ARCA Mendes Series race at Kansas witnessed Russ Lane in a massive accident at Turn 2. The ARCA race is part if the 3-day-long NASCAR outing in Kansas.

In the 12th lap of the race, Russ Lane lost control of his car coming into turn two. After that, he drifted toward the infield wall and crashed heavily. The incident caused a caution flag as debris covered the track.

The driver was lucky and escaped the collision without suffering any damage. He climbed out of his car on his own as soon as it stopped near the inside wall.

Bret Holmes took his 1st win in the NASCAR ARCA race at Kansas?

In the race, Bret Holmes took his maiden career victory. He drives the No. 23 Chevrolet for his family-owned team. He dominated the whole race and led 82 laps out of the 150 lap race.

In fact, he held a lead of 14.458 seconds over the second-place Ryan Repko.

After the race, he talked to the media. He said, “We’ve been working so hard for this. I’ve been working my whole life for this. My team did this for me. It’s been a long, tough road.

“I want to thank my family, my friends; they believed in me when I didn’t. They kept pushing me during those hard days. It was well worth it. I’m just so happy, I’m at a loss for words. It’s awesome.”

He added, “That confidence slowly kept building as we put some good runs. It’s tough being the underdog competing against the big guys. I’m so happy. I drove my ass off. We’re going to keep our head down and go get some more.”

Additionally, pole-sitter Riley Herbst finished in third place. He was followed by Corey Heim, and Tanner Gray to round out the ‘Top-5’.
