How quickly do the dynamics of racing change in NASCAR? Once a seasoned winner and contender for championships, Brad Keselowski, since the turn of the Next Gen era, has become a shadow of his former self since the Penske days. One might think that the veteran driver did enough to prove his mettle as a driver in the 2023 season, but he still has a big void to fill going into 2024.

The driver-turned-co-owner of RFK Racing has not been able to register a Cup win since 2021. Thus, making it a hundred winless races for the driver. And without any relief, the start of the 2024 season has also been far from ideal. In both races, the RFK driver has only managed a #33 finish, so as far as points are concerned, he is struggling on that front as well. However, the 40-year-old said that points were not at the top of his priority this early in the season and highlighted his key focus for the next races.

Brad Keselowski is not concerned about the lack of points after two races

It has been more than a decade since Keselowski rose to the pinnacle of NASCAR racing with his championship win. And while he can hold his own against some of the fiercest rivals, the absence of wins in the series is somewhat of a concern for him. To top it off, consecutive sub-par performances and a lack of points do not help his case as the season progresses.

FOX reporter Bob Pockrass, in light of his recent performances, asked the driver, “Do you feel like you’re in a hole, points-wise?” In response, Keselowski said, “Yes, you know I want to win races. Points don’t really mean anything unless you win. Not where I’d want to be in points but in the position to win races, and that’s going to pay off eventually.” Bob even went on to ask Keselowski, “When are you going to take chances to win races?” In reply, the driver added, “Oh gosh, it’s way too early for that, right now we just need to do what we can do. Go out there and win races and be competitive.”

One might argue that finishing #33 is not exactly putting yourself in a position for a win. And while there’s a long road ahead in the season, being at the tail-end only drags you further from a win. However, given that the superspeedway racing hurdles at the start of the season are over, we can perhaps hope that Keselowski will be banking on his previous track record at Vegas to find his winning mojo.

The #6 driver from RFK Racing has claimed three wins at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in his Cup Series career. Thus, making it one of his favorite tracks. Last season, during the play-off round race at the venue, he managed a P4 finish, but apart from this, all of his three wins at the race have come during his time at Penske.

Keselowski’s first win at Vegas came in 2014, and he followed this up with victories in 2016 and 2018. Moreover, he continued his dominating run at the venue with a sixth, second, seventh, and second finish during the springing race event at the start of the season. But that was before the Next Gen era, and as mentioned above, #4 last year was his best display at the venue in recent times.

Considering the shift in dynamics since then and after certain calculations, it should be safe to say that if Brad Keselowski wants to regain his winning form, there is no better place for him than Las Vegas.
