Clint Bowyer is set to walk away from NASCAR at the end of the 2020 season. However, he will remain in NASCAR circles, as he is taking on a commentary role in the sport. At the recent eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing broadcast, he had some practice for the coming season.
Bowyer discussed his own race at the Charlotte Roval. It was a hugely demanding race, and he even had to visit the medical center afterward. He then admitted that the virtual race should have mimicked the real-life race, which was wet.

Clint Bowyer also said that he would normally deny it, but he loved the racetrack as it was a massive game-changer.

He said, “It’s really neat for me to watch these guys from last year. I’m listening to their braking point, the throttle up off the chicane. How hard they are able to get off the gas. Its all so real, so I was closing my eyes and listening to the car. I can put myself right back in it.”
What else did Clint Bowyer say?
He praised the sim drivers for being able to churn out excellent laps with minimal mistakes. According to Bowyer, mistakes make the difference between a good run and a bad run. This holds especially true on a road course, as the cars may not be used to more than one change of direction.

Clint Bowyer explained that he had a fairly decent race at the Charlotte Roval. However, in spite of looking really quick off the blocks, hardly anything went in his favor. In the first stage, he was running in 2nd and closing in on the leader, but the caution came out. Thus, he was stuck on rain tyres, while everyone else pitted.
In the second stage, he guessed that he made a mistake on his own and it cost him dearly. Suddenly, he got interrupted when one of the drivers went off the track and he said, “You cannot make mistakes like that and go off the track.”
