In a recent interview, former NASCAR Cup champion Jeff Gordon spoke about how his career trajectory has changed so much. After he walked away from racing, he turned to commentary in order to keep himself involved in the sport. Now, Gordon has switched to another career path; this time he is the Vice Chairman of Hendrick Motorsports.

Among other subjects, he talked about how former rival Mark Martin reacted to the news. In a recent interview with the Athletic, Jeff Gordon said, “He’s like, ‘I can’t believe you’re doing TV and you want to do more with Hendrick. I can’t believe you want to do that. That’s crazy!’. You know, I didn’t necessarily see myself in this position, either. But I’ve gotta admit: I love it. I really, I really do.”

What lies ahead for Jeff Gordon and Hendrick Motorsports?
For the 2022 NASCAR Cup season, Hendrick Motorsports will be hard at work. Without a doubt, they have been one of the strongest teams in the sport. Heading into a new era with the Next Gen cars, the outfit will want to continue that. Now that he is the Vice Chairman of the organisation, Gordon will be keen to guide them to glory.

The team has great drivers in its stable, like Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott, both of whom are champions. Additionally, they have young, talented drivers like Alex Bowman and William Byron. The Hendrick Motorsports team has also produced the likes of Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. With the former having won a record equalling seven Cup Series titles and cementing his status as a legend.
