“I Did This to Some Effect Throughout High School” – Dale Earnhardt Jr. Reveals One Trick he Learned from his Father

Recently, Dale Earnhardt Jr revealed a few interesting facts about his late father, Dale Sr. As it turned out, the 7-time Cup Series champion had the ability to take impromptu power naps. The former driver also confessed that he used to employ that tactic when he was younger.

Of course, the main difference was that Dale Jr. used to do it when he was in high school. Dale Jr. tweeted, “This man slept where and when he wanted. It was a gift. He could squeeze 5-10 min naps in at the drop of a hat. I did this to some effect throughout high school.”

Of course, whether his father and mother ever found out about that little trick is anyone’s guess. Rather hilariously, his school, Mooresville High School, teased the former driver. According to them, he never pulled this stunt in one particular class. Dale Jr. didn’t deny it either.

All teasing aside, it is plain to see that Dale Earnhardt Jr. has a lot of respect for his late father. Dale Sr. taught him pretty much everything he knew about racing, and let his son follow him into the family business.

Now, the JR Motorsports co-owner is anxiously waiting for the new season to begin. The Cup Series drivers got a bit of a head-start with the Clash at the Coliseum. Now, the real 2022 NASCAR Cup, Truck and Xfinity seasons begin at the Daytona International Speedway.

This year, the JR Motorsports fields Sam Mayer, Justin Allgaier, Josh Berry and Noah Gragson. The four drivers are pretty talented and three of them are proven race winners in the series. Mayer may be a little new to this, but he is also exceptionally gifted. Of course, all of their rival Xfinity Series teams will not let up easily, which should make for an exciting season.
