Ahead of the NASCAR Cup Series race at the Auto Club Speedway, Alex Bowman received an incredible honor. Apparently, he received a special plaque that commemorated his win in March 2020. That win was his second career one, and he also received the Austin Cindric treatment.
To be precise, he was inducted into the Auto Club Speedway Hall of Fame. In addition to that, he got a chance to leave his concrete footprint and signature. Unlike Cindric though, the Hendrick Motorsports driver elected to keep his shoes on when stepping onto the wet concrete.
Pretty sweet moment this morning… officially part of the Walk of Fame. Thanks @AutoClubSpdwy🤘🏼 pic.twitter.com/izHwwr1Cg0

While many Bowman fans were thrilled, some others elected to crack jokes. This is because they noticed that the bronze image of Alex Bowman looked extremely weird. Some even compared it to the bronze bust of football superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo. Others pretty much felt that the image of Bowman on the plaque was nightmare fuel.
What all did the NASCAR fans say about the Alex Bowman image?
One user commented, “Dude, dope until the etch of you. I didn’t know you were a caveman? lol“. Some even mistook it for an image of Matt Kenseth or Erik Jones. Later on, he addressed the lack of resemblance, commenting that he was still glad that he had the win under his belt.

Did they accidentally put, I dunno, @Erik_Jones or someone else on the plaque? https://t.co/oiijZivemT

On a different note, poor old Alex Bowman could not repeat his 2020 heroics. Instead, the triumph went to his teammate and defending champion, Kyle Larson. He finished ahead of Austin Dillon and Erik Jones, in an all-Chevrolet 1-2-3. Daniel Suarez made it a fourth Chevrolet, with Joey Logano as the best of the Fords. Meanwhile, Kurt Busch flew the flag for 23XI Racing and Toyota, in 8th place, as his teammate Bubba Wallace endured a nightmare.

Meanwhile, last week’s Daytona 500 winner, Austin Cindric, could only muster 12th place. On the bright side, he is still leading the championship, but he has Joey Logano right on his tail. In addition to that, the season is long, and anything can still happen. So, Cindric needs to keep his wits about him. Meanwhile, Alex Bowman and the other NASCAR contenders will have to claw their way back up the order.
