With this week’s episode of The Dale Jr. Download podcast dropping in, the NASCAR community got a much-awaited-for surprise. On the sets of the podcast this week was one of the finest Cup Series drivers of the modern era – Tony Stewart.

Smoke joined Dale Earnhardt Jr and his manager, Mike Davis, in their studio after a gap of almost four years. The last time he sat down with the duo, he was single and embarking on a career in sprint racing.

Now, after marrying fellow dragster Leah Pruett and becoming the proud owner of an NHRA team, Tony has even won a race in the physically demanding Top-Alcohol Dragster. Following his historic win at the drag strip, the Stewart-Haas Racing co-owner talked about the good fortune he has had since marrying Leah.

Tony Stewart reveals the bright spots in his life since meeting his wife

This week’s The Dale Jr. Download podcast certainly had some wholesome moments, with Stewart describing how his life has changed after his wife and fellow NHRA dragster, Leah Pruett, tagged along. While Mike Davis listened closely, Dale Jr quickly got in on the fun, talking about his wife’s lifestyle.

Speaking to the duo, Stewart started the conversation, talking about Pruett’s healthy lifestyle. As he dived into the matter, Smoke also recalled a funny incident from when he went on a hike with Leah.

“Yeah, my wife is very healthy and athletic, I mean hikes a lot, runs a lot, bike, we bike some. She got me hiking with her through Arizona, hike up the hills. There’s one hill we like a lot and I died twice on it for real.

She waits and then we get to the top and hang out for a little bit and then we hike down. I kick her a** going downhill cos I got gravity and momentum on my side,” he joked. 

Besides the NHRA dragster describing his major healthy turnaround owing to his wife’s discipline, Junior also mentions how Amy Earnhardt has changed his life for the better.

After Tony Stewart’s discussion on healthy lifestyle, Dale Jr chimes in with his experience

Compared to Tony, who got married recently in 2021, Dale Jr settled down much earlier.

Agreeing with Tony that their wives follow a healthy lifestyle, Dale said, “I had the same experience when I got with Amy. And she has, you know, she’s got her lifestyle in terms of how she eats and how she works out all that stuff. I was never, I’d never be as dedicated to it as she is.” 

On the whole, they certainly had a lot of interesting things to talk about during the conversation. With Tony Stewart clinching the Top Alcohol win, the veteran driver is definitely having the time of his life now with Leah right by his side.
