Another race weekend has passed and Kevin Harvick is still in danger of not making the Playoffs. The last time this happened was in 2009, when he ultimately finished in 19th. During that year, he went winless for the entire year and pretty much paid the price. Last year he went winless again, but was able to make the Playoffs and finished the season in 5th.

This time around, it doesn’t look like there will be an encore unless he really bucks up. Earlier at the Pocono Raceway, Harvick got caught up in a few incidents that hobbled his race and he ended up 27th.

In light of this, former NFL player Bernard Pollard Jr commiserated for the Stewart-Haas Racing driver. He tweeted, “I hate that for the 4 car! I want to see him get one SO bad!”

What happened to Kevin Harvick during the race?

Sometime in the middle of the race, poor old Harvick got caught up in Denny Hamlin’s grudge match with Ross Chastain. At that time, Hamlin bumped Chastain into the wall, then a startled Harvick bumped him from behind. Other shenanigans took place and the Stewart-Haas Racing driver could not recover.

Honestly speaking, Harvick is capable of winning races, and has been in the Top 5 on a few occasions this year. His best finish is 2nd place at the Richmond Raceway, so it is only a matter of time before that first win comes.
