

After the race, AJ Allmendinger made some shocking revelations about his last full-time season in NASCAR Cup Series. He stated that the racing had become too much for him and his performance suffered because of that.
In the post-race press conference, AJ talked about his last full-time NASCAR season. He said, “By the end of 2018, I was very miserable and unhappy. The last few years it was really tough”. He added, “As a fan I love racing, but as I drove I just didn’t like it anymore. I just felt miserable every week”.
Currently, he works as a NASCAR analyst and broadcaster for NBC Sports. And is a part-time driver for Kauling Racing. Talking about how his broadcasting career helped him to be able to race again. He said, “I was very fortunate to be a part of NBC for the last year. And I was able to get my love for racing back”

AJ Allmendinger in NASCAR
AJ started his NASCAR career with Red Bull and have moved around a number of times. His performance wasn’t consistent in any of the teams and he often struggled to get an extension. He has raced for Richard Petty Racing, Team Penske, and JTG Daugherty Racing in the cup series to name a few. he had his last Cup Series season in 2018.
In 2019, Allmendinger joined the Kaulig Racing team to drive the No. 10 car for a part-time Xfinity Series schedule. He participated in five races with the team. For the 2020 season, Kaulig extended his contract and he was supposed to run eight races. However, because of the pandemic, AJ only had a chance to participate in two races this season.

Additionally, after AJ’s win at Atlanta, it was announced that he is eligible to race in the event. After that, Kaulig Racing made an announcement confirming that AJ Allmendinger will be racing in the next week’s Homestead-Miami race.
