A top 10 finish for a part-time racer is considered to be a good result in any division of NASCAR but Kaden Honeycutt was not happy despite having a fairly decent result. He has had a fantastic start to the 2024 Truck Series season and has taken part in 3 races and finished in the top 10 on 2 occasions. At Martinsville, he might have been hoping for a top-five finish but was unable to do so.
The 20-year-old finished P9 in the truck race at Martinsville but was involved in multiple incidents during the race. In his head, these incidents prevented him from finishing higher up the order, maybe even from challenging for a race win. He was also apologetic to one of the drivers affected by the incident in the final stage of the race.
One of the biggest incidents he was involved in came with 43 laps remaining in the race. The 20-year-old got into the back of Brett Holmes who spun and took out Justin Carroll as well. After the race, the driver of the #45 truck was quite apologetic to the former.

He later said, “We had a really good truck. Scored stage points…I thought we had a great truck so regardless of what happened, it’s ended up being a top 10 so…I apologize also to Brett, I just messed up. I was so tucked underneath him, I was not paying attention where the cones were in turn 1 and I just flat-out hit him. Not really an excuse but still have to fix that and not let that happen ever again.”
That was not the only incident he was a part of during the race. When he was speaking in his post-race media interaction, a reporter said that Kaden Honeycutt seemed to be involved in every incident that happened and the 20-year-old couldn’t help but smirk a little.

Niece Motorsports star was involved in a lot, but still finished P9
Considering how many times he found himself in the center of a wreck or a spin, it’s incredible that he still managed to finish P9. The NASCAR Truck Series is notorious for putting up wreck-fest after wreck-fest every weekend, but Kaden Honeycutt seems like one of the cleaner racers and he has a whole lot of talent to back his skills up as well.
“Going down into 3 I was trying to make a move on the #7 to get three-wide. We just all came together. That jumbles us back a little bit, lost some ground on the #18 and some of the other ones that we were gonna be with and then I got back to him and we moved each other so that lost us another 2 seconds. Down in 1 and 2, I got down to #43 and I barely moved him up and he just came right back down a little bit and I nicked the curb and it spun myself out so I didn’t do a very good job at that on recovering,” he had said earlier.
