For the majority of his career so far, Kyle Busch has been a racer for Toyota. Last season, however, he began a new chapter when he sat behind the wheel of a Richard Childress Racing Chevy Camaro. Three wins made for a decent first season with Chevrolet for Rowdy, but he will be aiming higher this year. Recently, the RCR man was testing out another Chevrolet car at the Michigan track, but it wasn’t a race car. This one was the newly unveiled Chevy Trax.

It’s no secret that Kyle Busch has quite an impressive car collection. His garage houses all 3 manufacturers that take part in the Cup Series, and then some. One of his most prized possessions is a limited-edition Lexus LFA. Given how much fun he seemed to have driving the Chevy Trax, it might not be long before fans see that automobile in Rowdy’s garage as well.

It was all part of a promotional video that Busch was driving the latest Chevrolet reveal. As he did laps around the tracks of Michigan, the veteran race car driver spoke about everything that worked about the automobile with the company’s Director of Marketing and Advertising, Brad Franz. He seemed quite impressed with how the car was priced, starting at $25,000.

Man, that sounds like an amazing value. It’s a great ride, it’s a really smooth sporty car, it’s got a great look, really good stance, I love it,” Rowdy said. He did seem to have a field day driving the bright yellow vehicle around a track he competes on every year.

Chevrolet’s Instagram describes the car as having “Sleek edges and sharp colors. Expansive cargo space and cutting-edge tech. It’s one of those rides you just gotta test drive.” One of the more striking things about the vehicle was just how expansive it was. It might be big, but it does not look bulky, which is quite impressive.

He might have liked Chevrolet’s new compact SUV but the only Chevy Rowdy is concerned with is the 2024 Camaro. Last year was decent for a first season with a new team but this time, there can be no excuses. The tough part is that the veteran racer does not have a successful history racing in a Chevy.

Before joining Joe Gibbs Racing in 2008, Kyle Busch spent 3 full-time seasons driving the iconic #5 Chevy for Hendrick Motorsports. He did win a few races but never came close to winning the championship. Busch surely will be looking to change that, and ahead of the commencement of the 2024 Cup season, he spoke about what he and his team needed to focus on.

“Man, if we could have ended the season how we started the season, we would have certainly been something to contend with for the end of the year. I mean, our stats weren’t too far off of the champion’s stats. We had more top fives, we had more top 10s, we just had more DNFs, you know, and the average finish obviously was a couple points worse, but that was from those DNFs. So just need better consistency and taking those finishes of from 12th to 15th and not over-forcing it or over-pushing those runs that we have and spinning out and crashing,” he said as per NASCAR.

One take at a time

Drivers these days need to be more like Denny Hamlin and Bubba Wallace. Well, now you know who my favorites are. For me, it all began with my interest in F1, but I was just tired of Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen showing unparalleled dominance.
