Tony Stewart candidly reveals his thoughts on working alongside Clint Bowyer
As for what he thinks about the toughest part of working with Bowyer, Tony Stewart said, “I think probably one of the hardest thing is getting Clint to stop talk about something.” But this, for Smoke, he claimed, is “fun.”
“Working with Clint and the fun part of being able to race with him in the past, having him drive for us at SHR, and now getting to work in the booth, I told him earlier, we were all having lunch, we were talking about a certain topic and I told him, I looked at him and said, ‘I never knew you were this smart,'” he continued.
“I mean, I don’t know what happened, but he’s super smart and the thing that impresses me on Clint’s side about working with him is, this isn’t a deal where you just show up, you get makeup, you put your clothes on and you go sit in a booth for a couple of hours and commentate a race.”
Stewart also touched upon “the amount of homework,” Bowyer does before any race is “unbelievable” for him – “I mean, for a Sunday race he’s watching the race on Friday, he’s watching the race on Saturday, he’s thinking about this, he’s thinking about that, he goes, ‘What if they did this?'”

In fact, Smoke feels there are things that even the fans can miss, but the ex-drivers sitting in the booth won’t simply because of what they know.
