Recently, Stewart-Haas Racing driver Kevin Harvick took to Twitter to talk about IndyCar driver Scott McLaughlin. According to him, the driver from New Zealand would perform well in stock car racing. Soon, that prompted a bit of a discussion about how non-NASCAR drivers would perform in the sport. Then the conversation shifted to former NASCAR and Supercar driver Marcos Ambrose.

Harvick wrote, “Fairly certain Scott McLaughlin would be pretty good in a stock car as well. Just a random racing thought for the day on Twitter”.

When some insisted that he has not seen the 46-year-old in action in V8 Supercars, Harvick was quick to disagree and said, “I’d say you’re wrong.”

He even admitted that McLaughlin should be given a Cup Series chance, especially at the Charlotte Roval.

What did Kevin Harvick say about Marcos Ambrose?

Then, a fan said, “Marcos Ambrose made an entire career in nascar after coming from supercars so surely the transition today isn’t impossible, especially considering modern cup vehicles are much closer to the Aussie v8s than the old cot’s & gen-6 cars.” and Harvick replied, “If Marcus Ambrose had better cars he’d still be racing cup and have won double digit races by now.”

On a different note, Harvick will be heading into the coming race weekend, on a massive mission. He already had a rough start to his Playoff campaign at Darlington last week. This was when his #4 Stewart-Haas Racing car ground to a halt in flames.

On the bright side, Kevin Harvick still has two races to turn things around. The bad news is that he is sitting 16th and last in the Playoff standings, so he has to majorly outscore his rivals to escape elimination.
