Although we are still in the middle of the 2022 NASCAR Cup season, a lot of attention is shifting to 2023. One of the biggest questions is about the future of a certain Kyle Busch. With the departure of M&M’s from NASCAR at the end of this year, it leaves Busch without a sponsor for the upcoming season. Now, his only options are to try and find a sponsor and re-sign for Joe Gibbs Racing or look for a new team. For the 2-time Cup champion, one candidate could be Stewart-Haas Racing. In light of this, Kevin Harvick spoke about the prospect of having Busch as a teammate.

He said, “I get along great with Kyle. We’re going to race each other, be mad at each other, but I have a good relationship with Kyle. I can tell you that having a teammate like Kyle makes my car run faster. When you have all the cars running fast, they all run faster. I’m 100% open to having Kyle as a teammate.”

What else did he say about Kyle Busch?
In a recent episode of Door Bumper Clear, Spotter Brett Griffin talked about the Joe Gibbs Racing driver moving to Stewart-Haas Racing, and talked about Kevin Harvick being the big obstacle in his way, keeping him from joining the team.
“Here’s your struggle if you go to Stewart-Haas Racing. Kevin Harvick is GOD at Stewart-Haas Racing. What Kevin Harvick says is where Stewart-Haas Racing going. So, I don’t see a personality like Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick? I don’t see that going well.”
On the contrary, Harvick insisted that Busch would have a lot of options on the table. He knows that there is a lot of activity around the current Joe Gibbs Racing star. At the end of the day, the #18 driver is still one of the best drivers in the stock car series. Harvick would probably bet his bottom dollar that many teams have never had a driver of Busch’s caliber.

According to him, the 2015 and 2019 champion is the kind of driver who teams can build around. He also believes that in the right circumstances, Kyle Busch has the ability to rebuild a whole organization based on his pure talent.
Until then, the driver has to continue performing to hopefully attract a long-term sponsor. One thing is for sure, 2022 will be the final year that the Candyman nickname will be in use.
