Denny Hamlin, just like his fans, was eagerly awaiting the unveiling of the new 23XI Racing headquarters. He reportedly dropped by the construction site often to check on the progress. Now that parts of the new office are open to the public, Hamlin has taken a breather. He shared in a recent SiriusXM NASCAR interview how relieved he feels now that it’s finally open and can focus on other important things.

It feels like getting the facility up and running was quite the marathon for Denny Hamlin. From personally designing the blueprint inspired by Mercedes F1 and other NASCAR racing teams, including Joe Gibbs Racing, to handling the daily grind of being a boss, it left him stretched thin. Between racing, overseeing the headquarters building, recording his podcast, and more, there wasn’t much downtime.

Now that the facility is launched, Hamlin shared on SiriusXM NASCAR radio just how much of a relief it is. “It’s very gratifying and I can… like take a breath now. I mean, we’ve been talking in every offseason, right? What’s the update with building? Like, what are you doing now off? I’m picking out the countertops, right? You’re not picking out the carpet. I’m done. I’m done now with this place and… in all the little touches. Now I can take a breath. And like, let these guys continue to get better focus on my driving,” Hamlin expressed, clearly relieved after getting everything done that Michael Jordan asked him to take care of and shift his focus back to the track.

But that’s not it! Denny Hamlin is finally catching a break and looking forward to hitting the links again, as he revealed, “That’s the most important thing [getting the golf score back]. I gotta get back to golf course because I’ve had no days off. I think two years and five years. And finally, now I’m– making Fridays my day. I can do whatever I want to do.”

And while he is mentally relieved, he’s clear-eyed about the reality of his investment in the new 23XI Racing headquarters not paying off immediately. Hamlin seems prepared for the long haul, indicating he’s in the racing business for the long run.

23XI Racing boss sees the flashy new 23XI Racing headquarters as a savvy real estate play

While the building is the base for Bubba Wallace‘s #23 and Tyler Reddick’s #47 cars, Hamlin emphasized its distinct role. He asserted that it is a personal real estate investment rather than the property of the whole team. “It’s an asset which probably should be considered separate from the race team. This is my real estate investment and I have a race team that occupies it,” he clarified.

Plus, since Hamlin is no stranger to the complexities of such a substantial investment, he openly acknowledged the long-term nature of his venture into 23XI Racing’s headquarters, stating, Listen, as much as this thing costs, it’s hard to say. You’re not gonna get it back in five or 10 years. I think it is a more longer term play. But it does come with, which the hope is, better people, better performance, more sponsorships. That’s the end goal.”

But admittedly, as much as could be seen from the online pictures, the place is amazing. Are you planning on visiting the place anytime soon?
