Ever since his accident at the Pocono Raceway, Kurt Busch has been out of action. The impact from the crash resulted in a concussion from which he is yet to recover. Recently, he announced that he was stepping away from a full-time role in the Cup Series. To the delight of fans though, he made a return to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, though he didn’t race.

He said in an interview, “So every five weeks I check in with Dr. Mickey Collins and go through my concussion protocol with the tests. I’m hopeful that with the gains that I’ve made, that I’ll see more. But I just could not quite connect with my movements and my balance right now. I’m hopeful that after Phoenix, I’m going to check in and see what that brings. Living life every five weeks at a time right now. Its a little weird, a little out of my world, but I’ve got a great family with 23XI and all of our village here in NASCAR. I got really good people to help me.”
