Recently, Hendrick Motorsports driver, William Byron, held a question and answer session on Twitter. Fans got an opportunity to ask the 22-year old a number of queries, and one fan gave him an interesting one.

If he had a chance, which former NASCAR driver would he love to race against. However, he insisted that he cannot choose between anyone. He said, “I think the current crop of drivers are honestly super competitive. The sport has been as competitive as it’s ever been.”

William Byron noted the various different winners and the fierce competition. He confessed, “To be honest, I’m just happy to be racing in the current environment. I definitely watched a lot of those races, growing up. I’m fortunate to be racing against a lot of those guys that I watch, growing up.”

What is William Byron expecting from the race weekend?

This weekend, William Byron is on a mission to stay alive in the playoffs and make it past the first round. Starting the race from 5th on the grid, he is in a prime position to hopefully take a win.

If he does, it would be the second win in his Cup Series career and he is in fine form. After a sluggish start to his 2020 season, he gradually picked up the pace, so that win at Daytona was a long time coming.

However, he will be desperate to try and stop Kevin Harvick from romping away to yet another win. However, he will have to get in line, as there are several other prime candidates separating them.

He was also boosted by a 2-year extension of his contract. That joy at signing a new contract, likely translated into a maiden win for the 22-year old. The big question now is, where can William Byron go from here?
