Racecar drivers are just like us. And yes, even the great ones like Kyle Larson make mistakes.

As weird as it may sound, considering his sheer talent and the success that talent and hard work have got him, sometimes, even he has his occasional slip-up. One such instance was recently seen in the qualifying session of the NASCAR All-Star Race as the Hendrick Motorsports star stalled his #5 Chevrolet.

Yes, he stalled, something he subsequently explained in an interview as to how that happened and what he feels about it.

“I stalled it, just trying to, like when you’re sitting there, you’re not fully compressed into the clutch,” he explained.

“You’re trying to find that sweet spot. And I didn’t want to spin my tires really bad and I just got a little greedy obviously and stalled it,” Larson continued. “It’s embarrassing. I’m the only guy who stalled. Pretty embarrassing.”

“I think it honestly was more embarrassing than Aric Almirola, who was sleeping. I’m sure (Clint) Bowyer was busting me on the broadcast.”

Kyle Larson on what needs to change with the All-Star Race

The defending All-Star Race winner, Kyle Larson called the ever-changing format of the race, the reason why it’s “always interesting.” However, he then went on to suggest the one thing he feels should change about the fixture.

I know there’s a lot of logistics and a lot of stuff that goes into it. But I feel like the championship race and the All-Star race would be fun to see move around,” Larson said.

“Obviously, the championship race is difficult cause it’s November, and the weather throughout the country is not the same. May, I feel like you can kind of race wherever in the United States. For the All-Star race, I would love to see it move around and I think it’d be exciting.”
