For many, NASCAR is just another motorsport where drivers compete for the checkered flag. But for a passionate few, it’s much more than that. It’s either a destination calling them to the track, or it’s the sheer thrill of speed that gets their hearts racing. While to some, this might just be part of the game, for folks like J. Douglas Boles, the president at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, it’s their whole world.

Not too long ago, Boles decided to shout from the rooftops—or, well, Twitter—about his deep gratitude for those who hold the sport and the speedway close to their hearts. Whether they’re flaunting the gear, jazzing up their ride with racing decals, or just spreading the good word, he’s all for it. His genuine shout-out to the NASCAR fans was a tip of the hat that made them feel even more part of the racing family.

When J. Douglas Boles caught sight of a car in the Sunshine State sporting the iconic Wing & Wheel logo on its license plate—a symbol steeped in the rich heritage of the IMS—it called for a shout-out to the speedway’s devoted fan base. Moved by this display of loyalty, Boles took a moment to pen a note of thanks and stick it on the car’s window.

His message was a tip of the hat to the fan, a warm nod acknowledging their fervor for NASCAR and IMS, making it clear that such passion doesn’t just fly under the radar. The note cheerfully said, “Thanks for displaying this IMS plate on your truck! Enjoy the weekend. 123 days to go!”

Boles shared this heartwarming encounter on social media, saying, “I love @IMS fans! And when I see them wearing the Wing & Wheel or displaying it – I always want them to know how much we appreciate it. This person was repping with the license plate here in Florida! So I left a message on the window earlier this week!”

This gesture of goodwill has truly touched NASCAR fans far and wide, stirring sentiments that IMS is indeed fortunate to have such a dedicated advocate at its helm.

Controversies, gossip, and breakneck speeds? Count me in! While F1 has its charm, NASCAR helps me relive those "Roadrash" gaming days. My favorite among the drivers has to be Tyler Reddick. The 23XI Racing pilot is not only likable but also a complete beast when he is on track, more specifically, road courses.
