Recently, news broke that the Jordan Anderson Racing Xfinity team recruited Sage Karam. The 26-year-old finished seventh in the 2021 Indianapolis 500 earlier this year and has picked up one podium in his career.

Now, the American driver will make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. As per reports, Karam will drive the #31 car.

In his racing career, the Pennsylvania native has amassed 24 NTT IndyCar Series starts. This includes competing in the Indianapolis 500 on eight occasions. Further adding to his repertoire are 17 starts in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

“It has always been a dream of mine to be able to compete at this level with some of the world’s best stock car drivers,” said Karam.

“My goal is to learn as much as possible and soak in this experience. It’s a welcomed challenge for me, and I’m looking forward to building strong relationships with the talented people of Jordan Anderson Racing.”

The team is excited to have Sage Karam in the car

Suffice to say, owner-driver Jordan Anderson was more than happy to sign Karam. He acknowledged that the Dreyer & Reinbold Racing driver has a lot of experience in road racing.

Aside from finishing 7th in the Indianapolis 500, the team was aware that the road course holds a special place in his heart.

Of course, Jordan Anderson knows that transitioning from IndyCar to NASCAR is not easy. Despite this, he is quite confident that Sage Karam will be able to master it.

It is worth mentioning that Karam has not competed full-time in the IndyCar Series. However, his one and only podium came in 2015 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Needless to say, this race track holds a lot of good memories for him. So it is fairly poetic that Jordan Anderson Racing has handed him his Xfinity debut at this track.
