Buckle your shoes, NASCAR fans! The Hall of Fame induction voting window is upon us, with several iconic names in the mix! However, with Carl Edwards being the most recognizable name on that list, in all probability, he will be on that podium delivering an induction speech next year.

Despite having 28 career Cup Series race wins, Edwards was never able to capture the title, and it’s quite a surprise. But does it weaken his claim of being inducted into the HoF? Perhaps not. If anything, Edwards is probably one of the most deserving nominees to be a part of the class of 2025, among several others.

Who else is joining Carl Edwards in the race?

Another big name that we see on the nominees’ list is Jeff Burton. Like Edwards, Burton is not a NASCAR Cup Series champion either. However, stats-wise, he does fall a bit short with 21 wins in 695 races, as compared to the former Roush Fenway Racing driver, who has 28 wins in 445 races. Considering that there can only be two inductees from the Modern Era Ballot (out of 10 nominees), fans need to vote carefully.

Another big name on that list is Harry Gant, who put teams like Leo Jackson Racing and Mach 1 Racing on the map with his pace and race craft. Other nominees include Neil Bonnett, Tim Brewer, Harry Hyde, Ricky Rudd, Ray Hendrick, Banjo Matthews, Ralph Moody, Larry Phillips, and Bob Welborn. Additionally, the nominees for the Landmark Award are Alvin Hawkins, Lesa France Kennedy, Dr. Joseph Mattioli, Dr. Dean Sicking, and Les Richter.

These, however, are some of the older names on the list. New additions have been made, and there’s a chance that some of these guys could win the award in their very first year of being nominees. The biggest new addition has to be none other than Greg Biffle.

Unlike the aforementioned drivers, Biffle is a 2-time NASCAR champion. It might not be the Cup Series that he won, but a championship is a championship. The 54-year-old won the 2002 Nationwide Series with Roush Racing, and a couple of years before that, he won the Truck Series for Jack Roush. If we’re looking at achievements as the measuring stick for who makes it into the Hall of Fame, then Greg Biffle is the first name that comes to mind. In all probability, that’s who fans are going to vote for.

However, Jack Sprague is another nominee to have won championships in NASCAR and is one of the drivers to have raced in the first season of the Truck Series and won that competition three times.

One of the coolest things about the NASCAR Hall of Fame is that it pays respect to those working their socks off behind the scenes as well, like engineers, crew members, and spotters. Randy Dorton is one of the new nominees and is a Hendrick Motorsports legend in his own right. The veteran was an important part of the team’s engine development and also won nine championships with them. If voted for, he would be inducted posthumously, having passed away two decades ago.

It will be interesting to see who fans vote for this year. However, it’s still quite early, but given their fame and success, it might end up being Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle on the Modern Era ballot. Who would you like to see be inducted? Let us know your thoughts.
