An item that almost everyone, from an average American citizen to a 300-pound bodybuilder, has in their pantry is a slender, red bottle of hot sauce. Primarily, people use hot sauce to enhance the taste of a bland piece of salmon or maybe to just add a kick to their chicken tenders. However, with the innovative ideas culminating within the competitive eating industry, hot sauce has made its way into the array of food challenges and is now posing quite a threat to professionals.

Firstly, it is super spicy. Not everyone can handle that amount of heat. Secondly, eating a plate full of chicken wings drenched in hot sauce within a given time is perhaps more torture than fun. Even as a competitive eater, one’s nose will start running, eyes will turn red and hands will start praying to the lord for the challenge to end as soon as possible. The horror of hot sauce has not spared the world of NASCAR as an ex-driver revealed his take on America’s favorite condiment.

After the first elimination round at Bristol Motor Speedway was over, Kenny Wallace did a meet and greet with thousands of fans at Trackside at Bristol Motor Speedway. Among other things, he interviewed Hendrick Motorsports ace Chase Elliott and asked a question that had the audience go berserk about the #9 driver’s personal life. But that was not the star of the show, or should we say the star of the plate?

Hot chicken wings: that was the star of the plate and the show. Kenny Wallace took part in a chicken wing eating competition with renowned competitive eater Joey Chestnut. Unfortunately, 60-year-old Kenny Wallace was the slower eater. Chestnut won with ease. But that’s not all.

Kenny Wallace found the hot sauce extremely redundant. Most of the time, people who claim to enjoy hot sauce are seen consuming hot sauce alongside their food and sweating simultaneously. Kenny Wallace just doesn’t understand why one needs to punish oneself just by flaunting the amount of heat they can handle. After all, the aftermath of having copious amounts of hot sauce is not very sweet.

He exclaimed, “I just don’t understand the purpose of hot sauce… what amazes me is the people that like hot sauce they’re miserable. They’re sweating and they go, Oh this is so good. Like, why? I don’t see women go, oh I love hot sauce.”

“It’s always some tough a** dude. Sh**t’s draining all over his mouth,” he added.

Wallace then revealed the funniest part of the story. The people who organized the eating competition forgot to get napkins for Kenny Wallace and Chestnut. Wallace laughed, “Joey Chestnut got sauce all over his face because he is a competitive eater. And there’s no napkins.” So the solution?

“They ripped the table cloth off this table and had like a whole bedsheet, me and Joey Chestnut use this big, old bedsheet (to wipe our faces),” said Kenny Wallace laughing out loud.

While Kenny Wallace hates hot sauce, an Xfinity Series driver gets a major part of his sponsorship from a hot sauce company. Back in 2022, Alpha Prime Racing and #43 Chevrolet star paired up with Heartbeat Hot Sauce for the first time and since then, their bond has been indispensable.

According to TobyChristie.com, Al Bourbohakis, the co-owner of Heartbeat Hot Sauce said, “Heartbeat Hot Sauce is so incredibly proud and excited to be working with Ryan Ellis and Alpha Prime Racing for our first partnership within NASCAR. The opportunity to have our brand represented at one of the most iconic and exciting tracks in the sport is truly amazing. We can’t wait to get to work with the team and begin what we hope will be a long-running partnership within NASCAR.”

Bourbohakis’ hope seemed to become a reality this year when Alpha Prime Racing announced that the hot sauce company would be their primary sponsor and hence launched the newest theme of the number 43 car.
