Jimmie Johnson is a name in NASCAR that screams a staggering 7 championship titles. Currently, racing as part of the IndyCar series, Jimmy is an absolute legend across various forms of motorsport. Recently he gave a hint towards perhaps returning to NASCAR after talking about the brand new Chicago Street Circuit.

Jimmie sat down with SiriusXM to discuss his possibilities to return to NASCAR in 2023 ahead of the Chicago race. During the interview, he said, “You know I wouldn’t rule it out. I don’t have anything in the works but I’m certainly open to any ideas and at this point of the season you know everybody is kind of jocking for positions, working on sponsorship details.”

He added, “I’m not sure what I have in store for next year. Could be more IndyCar. It could be a little bit of NASCAR. I’m certainly open to it. It’s so much fun I’m taking my helmet and driving different vehicles.”

“Driving in Sweden driving rally cars and IndyCar has been a blast to drive. Been in the IMSA series, I’ve certainly had my eyes on some type of NASCAR return but I just haven’t had the right opportunity come up yet.”
