NASCAR has been constantly innovating throughout its long history. In a recent conversation, defending NASCAR champion Joey Logano spoke about what he would like NASCAR to introduce. According to him, there are some things that he and his contemporaries would love in the stock car racing series. He even believed that his suggestion would be something that NASCAR fans would love to see.

He told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, “I still think we can add another 300 horsepower to these things, and that’d be even more fun. I’m pretty sure every driver would love that. Also pretty sure that every fan would think that’s bada**. I like horsepower, I think everybody likes. Like a big old freaking motor in these things. At least that’s what I’d want.”

Can NASCAR get back to glory days with the help of Logano’s suggestions?

Honestly, it is very difficult to say if the racing quality will be better. Of course, drivers would love to drive a faster car, which is why Joey Logano suggested more horsepower. The Team Penske driver believes that fans will also be on the same page, so more power and a faster car is the way to go. His comments come on the back of discussions about the Cup car’s lower downforce package.

The good news for Logano is that his 2023 Cup Series campaign has gone off to a flying start. He came ever so close to winning the Daytona 500 and was at the tail of the Top 10 at Auto Club. Unfortunately, his hard work came undone at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway when he was involved in a wreck. A week later at the Phoenix Raceway, he redeemed himself with a 11th place finish in the race.
