John Madden

With a career as a Super Bowl-winning, Hall of Fame coach, being arguably the greatest broadcaster ever, and the bearer of the most popular NFL video game, John Madden was somebody who was ‘football’.

“He was football,” NFL’s commissioner, Roger Goodell said in a statement after his death.

Madden was one of the very first broadcasters and entertainers to earn $1 million in salary and from endorsements. He worked for CBS, ABC, NBC, and FOX as a commentator/broadcaster.

From his video game deal, Madden earned $8 million a year. He continued to earn up to $2 million a year as a retainer until 2009.

All of these resulted in John Madden’s net worth being an estimated $200 million.
