There was plenty of drama surrounding the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at the Martinsville Speedway. However, amid all the chaos, Josh Berry managed to emerge victorious in the end. Behind him on the track were Noah Gragson and Daniel Hemric, who have since made up from their brawl in Atlanta.

He said, “Everyone on this team. They’ve been through a lot in the last couple of years. Had a ton of different drivers, man I wanted to win so bad for them. I needed this to be a good opportunity to win, Taylor [Moyer] called a perfect race. The car was good and we kept tweaking on it.”

Berry also confirmed that his tires were starting to fade towards the end. So, he tried his level best to nurse the car home to Victory Lane. He also made sure to thank team owner, Dale Earnhardt Jr for giving him the opportunity. Obviously, the 30-year-old was thrilled to take his first-ever Xfinity Series win.

What else did Josh Berry say?

The driver acknowledged his roots in the Late Model Series. To that end, he made sure to thank everyone who was instrumental in his journey.

He continued, “This is for all those (late model) guys. There’s a ton of them out there that are like me and have won here and all these great short tracks around here. We can do it, we just need the opportunities. Today, we proved it.

“Yeah, it’s a short track, but it’s still damn hard to win here and we did it.”

It is worth mentioning that this is Berry’s first win in 13 race starts and he has four Top 10 finishes. Up until his maiden victory, his highest finish was seventh place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
