It seems like Joey Logano entered the 2023 Cup season to add to the haters’ list. Right from the race at the LA Coliseum, Logano added another layer to the whole Kyle Busch vs “two-faced” Joey Logano saga. During a press conference after the race, Busch blamed Logano for ruining his day and flat-out driving through him.

Upset by the altercation, the Richard Childress Racing driver warned Logano about the repercussions his actions might have in a post-race interview. He said, “Yeah, I mean, Logano didn’t get hit by nobody. He just flat out drove through me, so he’s got another one coming—I owe him a few.”

However, this time around, Logano was like a sitting duck for a hater who was hooked on him with an offensive gesture throughout the length of the race. Interestingly, it was not a driver!

Who was giving Joey Logano a “double bird” the entire race?

In a recent tweet shared by NASCAR reporter and broadcaster Noah Lewis, reports of a NASCAR fan flipping a “double bird” surfaced online. According to Laogano, the spectator made sure to convey his hate for the 2022 Cup Series champion throughout the Food City Dirt Race, and that he was extremely committed to the task.

However, instead of criticizing the fan’s actions, Logano recounted the experience with grace and a witty response. Appreciating the fan’s level of enthusiasm and dedication toward the sport, Logano said, “I don’t think he saw the race, he was just busy hating on me! I love the passion. I love that they care. That’s why we’re here, we have to keep people caring.”

Unfortunately for Hamlin, NASCAR’s Appeals Panel upheld the governing body’s verdict. Surprised by it, Hamlin’s ex-teammate and fellow driver Kyle Busch questioned the decision to uphold the penalty in an interview at Bristol. Moreover, he also compared Hamlin’s actions with Logano’s at the Coliseum.

He said, “I have no clue how that is a penalty when in the rule book if you basically get into somebody or wreck somebody then it can be a penalty of any sort that they want to enforce on you or infringe on you. So, at the Clash, how come Joey Logano wasn’t penalized for wiping me out?”

Busch’s Truck Series team Kyle Busch Motors was also fined by NASCAR recently for making unauthorized changes to the engine oil reservoir tanks. Hence, the turn of events forced Busch to call out the governing body for its “contradictory” and “double standard” decisions.
