Kevin Harvick grabbed yet another victory in the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series. This time, he stormed to the win at the Dover International Speedway and is officially the 2020 Regular Season Champion.

As a result of this, Harvick heads into the final race of the regular season with a 15-point cushion. This will be a massive boost for the driver, ahead of the 10-race NASCAR Playoff. As it turns out, the Top-10 drivers in the regular-season standings earn bonus points, with a maximum of 15 and one point for 10th.

Harvick noted that this victory was important because Denny Hamlin clinched win in Saturday’s race. So it was vital to get his advantage back. Kevin Harvick also observed that the playoffs are generally unpredictable, so he and the team are taking it one race at a time.

With this, Kevin Harvick succeeds Kyle Busch as the NASCAR Cup Series regular-season champion. Before him, the triumphant driver was Martin Truex Jr.
