As he embarks on his final full-time season, Kevin Harvick does so with an impressive record of 60 Cup Series victories in the NASCAR Cup Series. The 47-year-old driver’s list of achievements includes winning the prestigious 2014 Cup Series in his inaugural season with the #4 Ford Mustang team of Stewart-Haas Racing. Nine years later, going through a mix of emotions as the second half of the season starts, he bidding farewell to New Hampshire Motor Speedway, which holds special memories for him, won’t be a walk in the park.

Moreover, Harvick expects to win this one, while finding the right balance between wanting to win and wanting to enjoy his final on-track moments.

Harvick Finding Balance Amidst Farewell

When questioned about maintaining a balance between competitiveness and enjoyment during the final races, Harvick assured that it has not been an issue for him. Harvick states,

“You know, we’ve had such a laid out plan for so long, and all that was was intended to know that you’re gonna do things but also put yourself in a position to be competitive. We’ve done that pretty much every week except for Chicago and North Wilkesboro, and you know, you just have to grind away.

For Harvick, New Hampshire holds a special place in his heart where he has tasted success throughout his illustrious career. Kevin Harvick has secured victory four times at New Hampshire Speedway in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2006, 2016, 2018, and 2019, showcasing his prowess on this challenging track.

Harvick shares his sentiments, stating, “This is one of those places that you can check that box and let your guard down and say, ‘Yeah, it’s been a great race track for us, and we have had some success’.”

Harvick asserts, “I do believe that if we get the right circumstances, we are ready to capitalize. We had that same thing at Phoenix and a couple of other places, and it just hasn’t worked out. So you just gotta keep grinding away, and hopefully, you get some things that go your way like we did last year.”

He mentioned, “There’s some places that that you that you look at and realize everything that you’ve been able to accomplish throughout the years and you can kind of go back.”
