Kevin Harvick’s now infamous anti-new gen slogan has almost become synonymous with him. Harvick recently reshared a tweet highlighting his merchandise event. The hilarious tweet also took a sly dig at an incident Harvick was unfortunately involved in.

Throughout the clip, we hear the phrase “crappy a** parts.” Harvick himself said that while being interviewed after the race. During that interview, he blamed NASCAR for the implementation of safety features, which failed to do its job. It obviously agitated him with what had happened to his race. Especially since this was during the playoffs, where every race finish mattered.

What happened at Darlington with Kevin Harvick?

During the playoff race at Darlington Raceway this season, Harvick’s car erupted in flames after coming out of the pit road. The fire slowly grew bigger and bigger with each second and he had to escape quickly, as the inferno ended his race.

It was later determined that a build-up of rubber under the car had caused the fire. However, the insulation material, which was supposed to protect the fire from ever reaching the cockpit, failed to do its job. Had Harvick not reacted sooner, who knows, things could have taken a turn for the worst.

The Stewart-Haas Racing driver was furious after the incident. The media met him back in the pits. Harvick told the interviewer, “Here we are in the pits with a burnt-up car and can’t finish the race during the playoffs because of crappy a** parts.”

Soon after the race, Harvick’s comments picked up momentum across social media. It also concerned NASCAR about their response to what had happened. However, Harvick became vocal enough about such driver safety issues. After several angry outbursts, NASCAR finally assured everyone about working on a fix. It wasn’t just Harvick who spoke about the safety issues. Other drivers, such as Denny Hamlin and Chase Elliott, also had spoken about it.
