Kevin Harvick vs. his own 11-Year-Old!

Kevin Harvick, a titan of the tracks, has faced a barrage of challenges this season. Whether it’s wrestling with those feisty Stewart-Haas Racing cars or grappling with the heartache of his final season, it’s been quite the ride. And just when the 47-year-old thought he’d clinched P2 at Talladega, bam! A pesky windshield fastener issue nudged him into disqualification.

NASCAR dives deep into Harvick’s disqualification mystery

In a recent NASCAR twist worthy of a dramatic movie scene, we finally have the inside details about why Kevin Harvick’s roaring beast was given the big, dreaded “DQ” stamp! NASCAR’s eagle-eyed officials, equipped with their trusty rule book, found the No. 4 car in violation of a few specific sections: 14.5.6.2.F and 14.1.E&P. According to Rule 14.5.6.2, windshield fasteners should remain firmly in place throughout an event.

At the drama-packed Charlotte Roval, Brad Moran, the bigwig Managing Director of the NASCAR Cup Series, showcased some gripping snapshots from the inspection. He spilled the beans, saying, ?Unfortunately, with the No. 4 vehicle, we have photos because we didn?t take any of the parts because it was fasteners. There were three bolts along the windshield that were missing. The windshield seal blew out. Seven of the eight fasteners along the top were loose or missing. There are eight in total.”

And now, as we zoom towards the Homestead-Miami race next weekend, all eyes (especially those of Harvick Jr.) will be on Tony Stewart‘s hero. The track has been his playground in the past. Here’s hoping Team SHR delivers him a chariot that won’t throw any more surprises!
