Kevin Harvick may have announced his retirement from full-time racing, but the Harvick name is not going anywhere away from motorsports anytime soon. Following in his father’s footsteps, 11-year-old Keelan Harvick has already made a name for himself in the grassroots circuits of American motorsports, with several accolades to his name. However, it looks like Piper is also set to carry the Harvick name onto the racetrack. A recent social media post managed to stir up conversation about what could be the second Harvick offspring’s debut.

A new superstar under the tutelage of Kevin Harvick?

Kevin Harvick recently uploaded a few images on his Twitter handle. His son, Keelan, seemed to have won an event as he stood on the top of the podium at Trackhouse Motorplex, a go-karting establishment. The 11-year-old could have been there for practice or a junior event, but the bigger story for now is Piper Harvick will be making her racing debut on Sunday.

Piper seems to have taken a keen interest in motor racing thanks to her parents and her brother. The 5-year-old’s curiosity was well-captured in the pictures as her dad and her brother were explaining the track to her. It seems like she will be making her debut on go-karts, much like Keelan.

What’s interesting is Piper’s debut and the Snowball derby are scheduled for the same day. So it’s highly likely that Kevin Harvick will miss out on seeing his former teammate Ryan Preece run in the iconic race on Sunday in the flesh. However, the 2014 Cup Series champion will watch the event from the comfort of his home.

“We’re going to be racing with Piper at Trackhouse Motorplex. We’ll watch her this weekend and go home to watch Ryan race on Racing America,” Harvick said.

While a lot of the focus in the Harvick family is currently around Piper, it is important to note that Keelan Harvick managed to become the talk of town at the Thanksgiving Classic.

Keelan Harvick made his mark on the Thanksgiving Classic

The 11-year-old recently took part in the Thanksgiving Classic at the Southern National Motorsports Park. He wowed the viewers in attendance as he took the checkered flag in the Legends feature race, driving the #62 car. However, it was not an easy feat by any means, and Keelan deserves a lot of credit for his achievements.

The driver of the #62 was caught in an incident as he lost control on turn 2 and his car made contact with the fence. A tow truck had to be summoned to clear the track and thankfully, the 11-year-old was alright. He later tweeted, “Running P10, but didn’t get to finish the race last night after this accident. Glad everyone was ok. Back at it today.”

With the Harvick children carving their own paths on the racetrack, it will be interesting to see how they fare under the very capable mentorship of their iconic father. Will the two children make it big in the world of motorsports? Only time will tell.
