Kevin Harvick Reveals the Amount It Will Take for Him to Influence the NASCAR Decisions

It’s no revelation that the All-Star race at Texas Motor Speedway was a flop show. But will NASCAR do something about it? Will the drivers raise their voices about it? So far, it hasn’t happened. But one of the most well-known, and certainly one of the most influential drivers, Kevin Harvick, was asked about it.

And if he is to be believed, even his voice isn’t influential enough.

In a recent interview, the Stewart-Haas Racing driver described why he can’t do anything about the All-Star race. “That is out of my pay grade,” he said.

“We have had some great races as we have gone through the season and going to different venues and having different things happen. If it was mine, I would do things probably in a different way, but it is not mine, I just drive,” Harvick continued.

“It is like I tell my son, make a couple billion dollars and then you can buy it and decide what the schedule looks like.”

Kevin Harvick calls out NASCAR races which are a thing of the past

As we just had the Coca-Cola 600, it’s worth mentioning how Kevin Harvick had recently spoken about the length of the NASCAR races in general, and how they need to be shorter.

“The thing that people have to realize, there’s going to be a lot more cautions,” he said of the longer races. “From a driver’s standpoint, I don’t think any of us want to race 500 mile races anyway.”

However, Harvick then went on to add the exception in his suggestions to shorten the race lengths as well as the one that is “debatable.”

“I think the Daytona 500, obviously needs to be 500 miles but the Coke 600 could be debated,” he said.

“But the rest of these races… they, to me, seem like a thing of the past.”
