Ahead of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, some have suggested that Joey Logano could have a leg up. This is because he won the last running of the race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Back in February, Logano clinched victory ahead of Matt DiBenedetto and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. However, Kevin Harvick is surely the favorite to win the race, given that he is starting from pole position.

Recently, NASCAR analysts, Alan Cavanna and David Smith spoke about Harvick. They suspected that Harvick would prefer it if there were fewer cautions, which would greatly help his cause.

According to Smith, the #4 car does not like long run passing. He said, “That’s what’s bugged Kevin Harvick in recent seasons, but they’ve been able to strategize around it.

“This race can see one second to 1.5 seconds worth of a lap time fall-off on old tires. That’s enough of a window for a good crew chief to build a strategy around.”

Can Kevin Harvick be stopped?

Harvick has been on a roll this season and is on the verge of 10 wins in a single season. Of course, he is still miles away from Richard Petty’s mind-numbing 27 wins in a season.

However, it does not take anything away from the fact that Kevin Harvick has been dominating in 2020. There have been drivers like Denny Hamlin and others, who have been trying to match him. However, Hamlin is the only one who has come close to matching him in terms of wins.

Realistically, Hamlin has been trying to make life difficult for Harvick. In the Playoffs, the competition has ramped up exponentially. Every driver is out to get Harvick to try and stay alive in the championship. After Las Vegas, the second round of the Playoffs will end and the next set of drivers will be eliminated.

Focusing on this particular weekend, Harvick may be on the pole, but he has Kyle Busch alongside him. Busch will be quite desperate to rack up at least one win in the 2020 season. As the defending Cup Series champion, it does not bode well for him to not have a single win.
