Kevin Harvick’s Dad Duty Took Precedence Over Qualifying as the Family Waited for the Tooth Fairy to Pay a Visit

This Cup Series season began with a lot of talk surrounding new sponsors coming to the sport and drivers changing teams. But amid all of that, the most shocking news for NASCAR fans was the announcement of Kevin Harvick‘s retirement. The Stewart-Haas Racing driver decided to end his 23-year Cup Series career after the 2023 season. And after making that decision, it seems like he has taken up his dad duties even more earnestly.
Harvick’s contract with SHR ends this season, and it seems like he made a wise decision for his future. He has a championship and sixty victories in the Cup series, to his name. While other drivers who retire still continue to be a part of racing, it seems Harvick will be walking away from it completely. His performance this season has been great so far, with three top-five finishes.

Even though this is the last season for Harvick, he’s having the best of times on the tracks. But apart from winning top ten spots in races, he is also winning people’s hearts. Recently, NASCAR on NBC’s page posted a very interesting and heartwarming post on their Instagram. The picture they posted has Harvick and his daughter Piper in it. The photo is a screenshot from a video call with a beautiful on-screen caption. While Piper is pointing out her tooth, Harvick is behind the wheel in his helmet, about to go for the qualifying.

The caption, on the picture, by his wife DeLana Harvick reads, “When you’re sooooo excited about your first loose tooth, but pops is about ready to qualify.”
NASCAR on NBC wrote under the picture, “The Tooth Fairy will be paying a visit to the Harvick’s pretty soon!”
It was a beautiful moment captured between a daughter and her father, who knows when to prioritize certain moments which, once missed, are gone forever. Although Harvick was about to go into qualifying, this was indeed a sweet gesture by him for his little girl.
