

NASCAR driver Kurt Busch is one of those rare few who found a companion that will always, completely understand his desire to win, to keep going as an athlete no matter what. This is because Busch’s wife, Ashley Van Metre, is an athlete herself.

A professional polo player, Van Metre has won several titles in her career like Port Mayaca 14- goaler and the International Polo Club 12-goaler, among others.
And now it seems she’s ready to add one more trophy to her collection as her team made it to the finals of a tournament. This was something on which the NASCAR driver congratulated her on Twitter.

How did Kurt Busch and Van Metre meet?
Busch and Van Metre met for the first time at a party in 2011. However, their first encounter was a brief one, and it wasn’t until three years later that they began to know each other more, when he sensed the spark.
“When I was reintroduced to Ashley, that early moment came back,” Busch recalled in an interview.

In 2015, the NASCAR driver proposed Van Metre and two years later, they got married on the island of St. Barts.

Busch starts a new chapter at 23XI Racing in 2022
Kurt Busch, who signed on to become the second driver of the 23XI Racing team, had one thing clear entering his new team – using his experience to uplift the team and lift them as championship contenders.
While this may seem a high ask for any NASCAR driver, for Busch it’s something well within his capabilities.

At 43, he is the longest-tenured driver on the field today. And on top of that, his career in which he has won 33 races will be a sponge full of experiences his new team would want to squeeze every ounce out of.

Speaking about his plans for the 2022 season, Busch kept it simple – “Winning races, both cars in the playoffs.”
