Kyle Busch, Bubba Wallace and Corey LaJoie Share a Unique Record Between Them in Talladega

At the Talladega Superspeedway, the fastest laps just kept tumbling. However, most of them came from Kyle Busch, Bubba Wallace, and Corey LaJoie. All three drivers looked like they were men on a mission. In fact, the trio racked up the most fastest laps out of the entire pack, with 10 each. In the end, it was Busch who topped the leaderboard. This was because he finished 3rd, the highest of the three, with LaJoie in 14th and Wallace crashing and being classified 17th.

Right behind them was Michael McDowell with nine fastest laps to his credit, and an 8th place finish. 9th-placed Alex Bowman recorded the eight fastest laps at the Talladega Superspeedway. Behind him, there was another three-way tie between Kevin Harvick, Noah Gragson, and Austin Cindric, with seven fastest laps each. Finally, Chase Briscoe rounded out the Top 9 with six fastest laps under his belt.

How did the race go for Kyle Busch, Corey LaJoie, and Bubba Wallace?

As mentioned before, Busch had a very strong race, finishing in a fine third place. This result came a week after he somehow managed to sneak in a victory at the Bristol Motor Speedway dirt race. Meanwhile, LaJoie came 17th, which was a minor improvement from 19th at Bristol. However, his season-best finish was 5th at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Finally, Bubba Wallace came agonisingly close to winning on home soil for the second time in his career. He was off to a great start when he won the first stage. Unfortunately, he dropped off in Stage 2 and caused a late wreck in the final couple of laps of the last stage.

In the end, he was classified in 17th, behind his teammate Kurt Busch. Although it was a disappointing end result, he can take comfort in the fact that he had the pace for the race win.
