It’s no big revelation of any kind to say that Kyle Busch has one of the unique and, to an extent, eccentric personalities in the sport, past, and present. However, is it fair to say that the same personality could have had a big impact on his search for a sponsor next season?

This was exactly what the Joe Gibbs Racing driver pointed out in an interview ahead of the playoff race at Darlington this weekend as he was questioned by journalist Bob Pockrass on the same thing.
“I can go a lot of different ways with this answer, but I’ll state the obvious that obviously, the perception is that it’s probably tougher being who I am to sell a sponsor, but I’m going to argue that fact too,” Busch said. “Name me the last big five to 10 million dollar sponsor that’s come in our sport lately. Give me one (to media). So is that a Kyle problem or a sport problem?”
Pockrass chimed in by saying, “HendrickCars.com”, to which an amused Kyle Busch replied, “Bob (Pockrass) wins on that one.”

Kyle Busch has the upper hand compared to others in pursuit of his third title
The two-time Cup Series champion was confronted with the common denominator between his two titles as well as the current season in which he’s pursuing his third. The similarity here is, of course, the stressful situation he faced in 2015 and 2019, and now in 2022.

“Boy that would be nice,” he said on whether the stress could push him to a third title.

Kyle Busch described how the stress of the past few months is similar to going through the Round of 8 in the playoffs. “I’m already living it,” he continued.

“I’m already there. These bozos haven’t been there yet. They’re only going to feel it for three weeks, I’ve dealt with it for three months, bring it on.”
