This year, the NASCAR Cup Series has been dominated primarily by HMS and JGR. The last nine races saw eight winners out of these two teams, making Daniel Suarez the only non-HMS-JGR driver to win a race this season. While that is the equation, other popular teams are in desperate search for wins. One such team is Richard Childress Racing. Notably, Kyle Busch was millimeters close to winning at Atlanta but fell meagerly short behind Suarez and Ryan Blaney on a three-wide photo finish.

Now as NASCAR heads towards Rowdy’s favorite track, Talladega Superspeedway, Kyle Busch refers to it as “crapshoot.” And what made him say that? Let’s find out

I mean, Talladega is always kind of a crapshoot. You can kind of see here that you’re all bunched up tight. And there’s a lot of action that kind of happens. And then there’s a crash that, luckily, I was able to kind of scooch on through on the bottom side there and got the lead. And you know, when the caution comes out on the final lap, the race is over, so we we got that one. We were just in the right position at the right time, and hey, that’s what happens in some of these races,” said Kyle Busch.

The highly unpredictable nature of Dega rightly makes it a “crapshoot,” as Busch says. Especially coming to the current Cup Series season, where wrecks are nothing new, one is forced to believe, that the bigger the reputation of the racetrack, the more it has wrecked. Going ahead, drivers will be extra-precautious at the Alabama-based track.

Kyle Busch would try to get out of danger’s way and capitalize on the opportunity. “Those are the positions you got to be in. So, you know I want to carry our cheddar colors of Victory Lane, though. Again, you know, let’s go do it,” he added, hoping to win his third race on the track.

Kyle Busch secured an impressive win at the 2023 GEICO 500 held at Talladega Superspeedway. In a race that went into double overtime, Busch didn’t lead until the final laps and capitalized on a last-lap crash involving several other drivers to clinch victory. This remarkable achievement marked his 62nd career win, his first at Talladega since 2008, and his second win of the season.

Ultimately, a daring decision by the Richard Childress Racing star proved successful. Rejecting his pit crew’s advice to refuel, Kyle Busch opted to remain on track following Noah Gragson’s crash in the initial overtime period. His decision? It’s definitely a perfect example of Busch’s well-known aggressive racing style, which is a gamble.

Let’s see if he can pull something similar on the 22nd. What are your predictions for the upcoming Cup race at Talladega Superspeedway?
