Dale Earnhardt Jr and Kevin Harvick‘s CARS Tour is currently all the hype when it comes to racing competitions apart from NASCAR, but former Cup Series champion Kyle Busch has decided not to go that route just yet. It was recently revealed that Rowdy would take part in the All That’s Metal Celebration of America 300 at the Oxford Plains Speedway on July 2 and 3. The CARS Tour will travel to Caraway Speedway in Sophia, North Carolina, around that time, but Rowdy will be making his way to Maine.

Kyle Busch gets the Cup Series spotter on board

As the 41st entry in the race at the Oxford Motor Speedway, Rowdy is perhaps the biggest name to have entered the event. The former Cup Series champion probably will have the most impressive resume out of everyone at the venue, and he will be looking to bag that $40,000, but that’s not all on offer. The race will have all 300 laps available for purchase at $50 a lap, meaning that the winner could earn as much as $50,000. Now that’s a big chunk of money that Kyle Busch would love to take home.

The 38-year-old will be entering with his patented shorty track number, #51 and the car will be provided by Cushman Competition. Fun fact: it’s the same car that won three races last year and Rowdy will be looking to repeat that feat in Maine come July 3. The veteran motorsports athlete will have a familiar face among all the new faces in his Cup Series spotter, Derek Kneeland. The duo might not have been able to win a race in the NASCAR series so far this year but this would be a nice start.

From the moment his name was registered, Kyle Busch became a favorite to win the All That’s Metal Celebration of America 300 and is it really a surprise given his resume? What’s more is that he has already won two races at the Oxford Plains Speedway—the PASS 150 and the  Oxford 250 in 2011. The veteran’s inclusion in the race will surely get a lot of eyeballs to the product.

Oxford Plains Speedway owner fawns over Rowdy’s participation

Former Cup Series team owner Archie St. Hilaire claimed that discussions with Kyle Busch about entering the race had been going on for several months. With the right people backing him, Rowdy finally decided to give the Late Model Racing event a go and Pro All Stars Series president Tom Mayberry could not be happier.

“We are absolutely thrilled that Kyle wants to be a part of our first 300. A lot of people in that group worked really hard to put this deal together. I think it’s going to be great for the fans and the competitors,” he said, as per the Racing America report. Mayberry is also the owner of the Oxford Plains Speedway.

It will be interesting to see how Kyle Busch runs in the All That’s Metal Celebration of America 300 at the beginning of July this year. Do you think he will win that race? Let us know your thoughts.
