In the high-stakes world of NASCAR, emotions often run high. Numerous triggers can prompt a driver to lose composure. Recently, however, it was Bubba Wallace who found himself in the eye of the storm, not so much for an act of anger, but rather the forum in which he chose to display it.

After the race at North Wilkesboro, Wallace appeared to make an inappropriate gesture while on live television. Thus, landing him in the middle of a scandal. Once this footage aired, a number of Kyle Busch fans took to social media to express their disapproval, questioning the seeming double standard when Wallace engages in such behaviors.

Following the race, Wallace seemed to provoke his critics by displaying an abusive gesture on live television.

As Fox Sports 1’s Jamie Little posed a question, Wallace’s attention was drawn off-camera. Seemingly under the guise of adjusting his collar, he subtly lifted his middle finger.

Throughout the weekend, Wallace had been the recipient of considerable booing from the crowd. However, his intention behind the offensive hand gesture may not have been aimed at his fans. Regardless of his true intent, considering the fans’ comments, it seems that he should have refrained from the gesture on live television.

Moreover, it was evident that fans interpreted the deed as a classless act. Subsequently, critiquing Wallace for showcasing double standards.
