Sunday’s NASCAR Cup race at the Texas Motor Speedway was a forgettable day in the office for Kyle Busch. The #18 driver was one of several drivers to lose the rear end of his car and crash out. It was a shame because he really felt like he could have challenged for the lead. At the time of his accident, Busch was battling with teammate Denny Hamlin and rued the lost chance.

He said, “I was just getting closer to the #11 and I knew if I tracked him, followed him in the lower groove, I would lose ground. So I went to the high groove, where I was making time in the spray and the sticky stuff. But its not so sticky, apparently. I crashed. I’m trying to go, trying to race. Banana peels out there for me. Too many conditions that you’ve got to be around or go around or figure out or be smarter about. I guess I wasn’t very smart.

What next for Kyle Busch in the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series?

Busch no longer has any stakes in the championship, because he has been eliminated already. Also joining him on the sidelines are Kevin Harvick and Richard Childress Racing duo Tyler Reddick and Austin Dillon. Of course, not challenging for the title doesn’t mean that he can’t gun for a win. Knowing that he is entering his final few races with Joe Gibbs Racing, he will want to go out on a high.

Aside from that, he and teammate Martin Truex Jr will be trying to help Denny Hamlin and Christopher Bell. Sadly for Kyle Busch, his last few races have witnessed a lot of bad luck and unfortunate circumstances. Conspiracy theorists would think that it is strange that his misfortunes began after his RCR announcement. However, practically speaking, would Joe Gibbs Racing be so petty to sabotage his own driver, especially its most successful one?
