Many consider the Chili Bowl a prestigious event. However, during the latest iteration of the event, saw a rather horrifying accident. Following the crash, many of the sports community stepped forward on social media to share their messages of support. A 16-year-old driver by the name of Ashton Torgerson was competing in the event when he ended up in a terrible crash. Mostly leaving fans in shock as to what they had just witnessed.

Torgerson‘s car was seen flipping up in the air several times. Furthermore, at one point, his head, along with the helmet, was visible, almost coming out of the top of the car. After another passing car hit his car, he flipped over a few more times. Finally ejecting the 16-year-old completely out of the car. Torgerson was then carried out by emergency services and was reported to be conscious and communicating with the first responders. Later on, they transported him to a local hospital.

The ambiance at the venue fell silent during the crash. Everyone prayed for the well-being of the young driver. Furthermore, drivers from the NASCAR community also sent out tweets praying for the teenage driver and his well-being. NASCAR driver Kyle Busch was one such personality to have sent out a message for the novice driver.

NASCAR community pray for Ashton Torgerson after Chili Bowl wreck

Fans across the racing community took to social media to share their prayers for the driver. Many of them expressed their shock over the incident that had taken place.

Moreover, this was the 16-year-old first-ever time racing in the midget series at Chili bowl. Following the update from the Torgerson family, it seems that he is recovering well. We hope that he makes a complete recovery soon and gets to return to racing. Despite the horror crash, it was great to hear that Torgerson was conscious and talking.
