This weekend, the NASCAR Cup and Truck Series head to the Bristol Motor Speedway dirt track. Ahead of the race weekend, Kyle Busch confessed that he is not very adept at racing on dirt. However, he has no choice, since the Cup Series is making landfall there.

He said, “Our team has relied heavily on Kyle Busch Motorsports. What we’ve done in the Truck Series for our success we had. We won with Bubba Wallace, we won with Christopher Bell, could have won another with Christopher. It’s going to be a learning experience for sure. These vehicles are nothing like I’ve ever driven under, probably. It’s going to be interesting.”

Of course, even though he does not have very high hopes, Busch is not giving up. The 2019 Cup Series champion decided to compete in the Bristol Dirt Nationals from March 15th-20th. Of course, he was not the only one, as Austin Dillon, Kyle Larson and Corey LaJoie also participated in the event.

Of course, the quartet only competed in Super Late Model cars. Those machines are vastly different from NASCAR cars. Nevertheless, they are still keen to rack up as much experience as possible. Kyle Busch admitted that the Late Model cars were different to the cars that he is used to driving. However, his focus was on garnering some experience and getting a feel for the dirt surface.

It is also worth mentioning that Busch has driven at the likes of the Eldora Speedway. Since that is also a dirt track, it is obviously the closest track to compare to Bristol. Nevertheless, this is still going to provide a unique challenge to Busch and the Cup and Truck Series drivers. One thing is for sure, the 2021 Bristol race will be hugely unpredictable.
