Moments after the end of the first round of the NASCAR Cup Series 2020 Playoffs at the Bristol Motor Speedway, a frustrated Kyle Busch said he will be eliminated in the next round. Such a claim by the defending champion caught many by surprise.

Now, a few days later and on the eve of the start of the second round, Busch is more of a believer. However, he is still concerned about the next three races on the schedule and revealed why he made the earlier claim.

It’s certainly possible. It just it’s going to be entirely difficult,” Busch said in an interview.

Kyle Busch previews his chances at Las Vegas

You look at Las Vegas and the statistics that show. We typically can run 5th there, but that’s about the best we can do. We’ve run 19th, 22nd, 18th in some of the last races that we’ve been there so those statistics don’t add up well,” Busch added.

Busch starts the race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in second place, just behind this season’s best driver, Kevin Harvick. Despite his past record and feelings about his run there, Busch will be motivated more than ever this time at Vegas.

He is yet to win this season and no better place to do it than his home track.

Crash-causing Talladega and Roval

The bigger challenges lie ahead, approaching the Talladega Superspeedway and The Roval at Charlotte. Most drivers have expressed their concerns about racing on those tracks. Busch said his record of crashing almost every time at those tracks adds to his uncertainties.

Then you go to Talladega which we crash every time. And then you go to the ROVAL, which we’ve been there twice we’ve crashed both times. So, the odds are very much stacked against us. So that’s why I said what I said,” Busch expressed.
