“In a perfect world, I would retire from Cup racing when Brexton is 15 years old.” There’s no doubt that Kyle Busch is ready to hand over the baton to his son. But not just yet. He still has the fire of racing in him, so much so that after retiring from Cup racing, he wants to “run a full truck series season to see if I can win a truck series championship.” But who said there wasn’t place for two generations of Buschs to be on the racetrack, especially since Brexton Busch has already started making his mark in the sport?

It looks like the eight-year-old has officially arrived! Busch Jr. started his 2024 season in style, with a championship under his belt already. His recent performance at the Beginner Box Stock Division at Millbridge Speedway made people believe he’s following in his father’s footsteps. And why wouldn’t Kyle and Samantha Busch be proud parents? Samantha took to her Instagram story to express just that, penning a heartwarming message.

The new Beginner Box Champ gave a speech after receiving his championship trophy and posted the wholesome moment on his Instagram account. He even made a good $600 for clinching the first place at the Millbridge Speedway. This show of confidence and racing acumen was indeed enough to make any parents proud. His mom, Samantha Busch, expressed her delight by writing, We are so proud of you, Brexton.”

Sharing his achievement, Brexton also wrote, “What a night at the @millbridgespeedway banquet! I had so much fun racing my competitors this year and really appreciate all the hard work Jeremy and Ashly do to put on the best racing show. Honored to be the Tuesday night Beginner Box Champ.” In his speech at the ceremony, the eight-year-old gave a special shoutout to his parents.

“I would especially like to thank my mom and dad for teaching me so much by filming my races so I can rewatch them.” While his parents film all of his performances so that the young gun can introspect and better himself, there’s one particular recent outing that wasn’t just recorded by his parents. And that was during his Tulsa Shootout appearance. Flipping his car at the Tulsa Expo Center was certainly not how Brexton hoped to end the Tulsa Shootout Junior Sprint A-Feature.

Despite a scary incident, Brexton Busch did well at the Tulsa event

While his Millbridge Speedway outing went great, we sadly can’t say the same for Brexton Busch’s Tulsa Shootout appearance. Piloting the No.18B, Brexton was in the battle for third place at the start. But the two cars in front of him made contact, pushing him into the wall. He underwent a flip that stalled his dreams to win at the event. Despite that, he continued racing and ranked 12th out of the 20 drivers who started the feature race. Here is how it all went down.

Addressing the disappointments of the event, Brexton took to Instagram and wrote, “The feature did not go as planned, got put into the fence and flipped lap one. Drove it from the back to the 12th with a messed up wing and front steering but that’s all she had. Car was fast all weekend so super bummed. Can’t thank my sponsors, crew and family enough for their support and dedication to my program.”

Showing character and resilience at such a tender age, Brexton Busch seems to have all the marks of a good race car driver. Wouldn’t it be something to see him and his dad race on the same track at the same time in NASCAR?
