The Busch brothers have long been a spectacle on the track. They are two fierce competitors with the same blood! Their rivalry has delivered some of NASCAR’s most unforgettable finishes. Remember the 2019 Quaker State 400 in Kentucky? It was an iconic moment when Kurt won in the final laps as he knocked Kyle sideways. This memorable finish marked the elder Busch’s first win with Chip Ganassi Racing. It also added a significant moment to the healthy competition between the brothers. But recently, NASCAR decided to give the elder sibling his well-deserved spot in the Hall of Fame. And let’s just say Rowdy is ecstatic about it.
Kurt Busch is more than just the 2004 NASCAR Cup Series champion and the 2017 Daytona 500 winner. He is a force of nature with 34 career victories under his wheels, spanning across four different manufacturers: Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet, and Toyota. And his younger brother took to the social media platform X to congratulate his brother.
When asked about the announcement, the now-retired veteran reflected on all the good memories he’s had, saying, “I’ve been through a lot, and to have this is a nice icing on the cake so to speak, from how my career finished in the car versus where we are today, it’s a nice feeling,” said Busch, who hasn’t entered a NASCAR race since July 2022, as he got delineated by the concussion he suffered in a crash at Pocono. But when NASCAR released a full-sized poster on their official handle, Kyle Busch looked all pumped up for his brother’s induction ceremony.

Kyle Busch first started with an overview of his brother’s achievements, which made him worth the induction, writing, “What an incredible achievement to be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame! Your dedication, hard work, and passion for the sport have truly paid off, and being a Cup Series Champion and Daytona 500 Champion is no small feat.” Sounds more like a racer’s appreciation than that of a family member? Well, the next part is surely from a brother rather than a racer.
Kyle Busch wrote in the caption, “I couldn’t be prouder of you! You’ve not only made a name for yourself on the racetrack but also inspired so many with your journey. This honor is a testament to your talent and perseverance. Cheers to you and this amazing milestone!” This is reality. Everything Kurt Busch has gone through to reach here is commendable.
🎉🏁 Congratulations, @KurtBusch! 🏁🎉

He has claimed 34 career Cup series victories over two decades and has done so with different racing teams. Kurt’s 2017 Daytona 500 victory, a crown jewel race he had been chasing for years, was nothing short of redemptive. Now that is a feat, Dale Earnhardt Sr. took 20 starts to achieve, and Kyle Busch, being a repeated Cup series champion, has missed out on. Even his performances at Bristol, where he won six times, are quite unforgettable. While the upside reflects so well, Kurt Busch has also hit rock bottom and bounced back like a true hero!
In November 2005, Kurt Busch was arrested for a DUI in Maricopa County, Arizona. He has had problems with alcohol. Busch was cited for reckless driving after being pulled over on suspicion. This led him to get fired from Roush Racing. But, luckily, it did not affect him much as he was already set to move to Team Penske in 2006. With only 2 races of the 2005 season remaining, Kurt Busch completed 50 hours of community service and enjoyed his time till next year. And, boy, did he bounce back! He won 2 races in the 2006 season, one at Bristol Motor Speedway and the other at Texas Motor Speedway.

Fans are happy with Kurt Busch’s Hall of Fame induction
“Congratulations, Kurt so well deserved. Welcome to the club, my friend!” wrote NASCAR engineer Ray Evernham, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018. Whether it was winning the All-Star race or carrying a mid-tier team to the playoffs, he never stopped evolving. Beyond the track, Busch has grown in the public eye, from the brash, polarizing man, the outlaw, to a well-respected veteran.
Another simply said, “The outlaw, I always liked Kurt,” appreciating this defiant image that made him unforgettable in the early 2000s. Others chimed in with one-word salutes, saying, “elite!”, “legend,” and “a certified Hell yeah moment!” For many NASCAR fans, Kurt Busch was the best Busch before Kyle started winning championships. The raw aggression and die-hard racing made people fans of the outlaw.
A few fans even turned to Kyle Busch, writing, “Awesome tribute Kyle, Congratulations Kurt!” Appreciating the people who appreciate others is really great, and fans might be looking forward to it. But this was not the best thing a fan had to say.

One of the fans appreciated Kyle Busch as a future Hall of Fame prospect and wrote, “You’ll be there with him one day. Congratulations, Kurt!! Well deserved”. Now, these are the types of appreciation people race for. If Kyle reads this comment, he would understand what impact his driving has had on people, even when his timing seems a bit off.
With Kurt Busch already on the line, when do you think Kyle would be inducted? Will it be after Brexton joins NASCAR as a full-timer, or after a few seasons? Do let us know in the comments.
