Like father, like son – both had a stroke of the same luck at the Tulsa Shootout. Kyle Busch, in the thick of it in both the Outlaw Winged and Non-Winged classes, was racing shoulder-to-shoulder with his son, Brexton. But just like his dad earlier, Brexton’s race nearly ended in a jiffy when he hit the outside wall on the backstretch. Through thick and thin, though, Samantha Busch couldn’t be prouder of her son giving it his all.

On one side, Kyle Busch is gearing up for his second lap with RCR, and on the other, young Brexton is revving up to show off his chops in the Junior Sprints next season. However, come rain or shine, Samantha Busch is Brexton’s rock, always there cheering him on from the sidelines.

No matter the hurdles, Samantha’s bursting with pride that the younger version of Kyle Busch never threw in the towel

It’s been quite the week for the Busch clan at the Tulsa Shootout. Young Brexton was just getting into the groove of the Junior Sprint A-Feature when things went south. A tussle between two cars battling for third sent them swerving right into Brexton’s path. Driving his No. 18B, Brexton then had a major clash with the outside wall, flipping his car end-over-end before it landed back on its wheels. Despite the hair-raising crash, he was okay and even managed to continue, finishing 12th out of 20.

However, Brexton’s got his family’s full backing, especially from his mom. After the race, Samantha Busch shared a photo on her Instagram story, captioning it with pride about Brexton’s grit and determination, even after a flip and a busted car. She wrote, “The look of determination. He tried so hard but hard to get to the front after a flip and busted car. Proud he kept digging.”

Kyle Busch, a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion with 63 wins under his belt, faced a similar mishap in the Non-Stock Wing Class, but couldn’t finish his race. The father-son duo are probably itching to head back to North Carolina after this eventful week in Oklahoma. But while Samantha Busch is all in for supporting her son, she’s not keen on pushing him down one set path.

Samantha Busch has put her foot down when it comes to one racing series for Brexton

On one side, Kyle Busch intends to be a part of his son’s racing journey, be it dirt, or anything. But apparently, Midget car racing seems like a shiny toy for young Brexton, but that dream’s on hold for now. Spilling the beans in a chat with FloRacing, he mentioned, “Yeah, I’d probably get into Midgets. But my mom doesn’t want me to get into Midgets, so…” Kyle Busch echoed his son’s words, saying, “Exactly. Mom will not like the Midget class, so we’ll give it a go one day. We will see how that goes.”

Given how Brexton’s racing career is picking up speed, it won’t be a surprise if we soon hear whispers about the younger Busch zooming into the NASCAR scene.
